It
is with regret that I inform you that we will no longer be the exclusive
distributor for the Inogen One G2.
I will do my best to explain the circumstances that have led to this
decision.
I personally sought out Inogen to distribute their product last year,
even though I knew they were selling direct to patients and even billing
Medicare. My belief was that the size, oxygen delivery, oxygen output,
and durability of the product put it in a class by itself, and providers
would look past the fact that Inogen was a competitor of sorts.
Medicare announced the bid winners in all the competitive bid regions
for all the categories. Inogen has won the bid in 6 territories for
oxygen supplies. Inogen is now becoming a true competitor and has
accepted bid amounts which most providers feel are devastating. Already
some of you have expressed great concern about their service model at a
time our industry is trying to fight for realistic reimbursement based
on necessary, professional service in the home.
Although, I still believe this is the best product by far in the space,
evo is not willing to support distributing a product for one of your
competitors. However, in true evo style, we will continue to support any
of your Inogen product needs during this transition period.
We appreciate your ongoing business. I believe this is another way that
evo is doing everything we can to support the homecare market.
